Dutch reporter gives information suppressed by the US and western MSM. Well, which makes more sense-- Russians living in a Russified area of Ukraine would rather live in Russia than in the Ukraine which has enacted new laws against the use of the Russian language and wants to impose nationalist Ukrainian cultural values on the Russian speaking population. The Ukrainian government had a chance to have a Canadian solution, French and English with the same rights and respect, but chose not to.
Political and cultural commentary based on a world view shaped by the works of Plato, Aristotle, Confucius, Averroes, Maimonides, Spinoza, Kant, Hegel, Marx, Sartre and Bertrand Russell "What is the use of studying philosophy if all that it does for you is to enable you to talk with some plausibility about some abstruse questions of logic, etc., and if it does not improve your thinking about the important questions of everyday life, if it does not make you more conscientious."-Wittgenstein

News from the Other Side
When two rights are in conflict (or here, two wrongs-- nationalism rather than internationalism and mutual respect ) force majeure decides the issue. For this war to end, Ukraine and Russia have to sit down and work out a peace deal -- it will favor Russia as Russia has more force majuere at its disposal -- unless the US and NATO up the ante and de facto join in the war and use their force majuere against Russia. This will lead to a really unexpected and unintended result-- such as the millions who died in WW1 over an ultimatum given by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to a little Balkan state (Serbia). The present status quo, endless war fueled by the US pouring billions of dollars into Ukraine to keep the fighting going, will do more to kill and destroy the Ukrainian people and their nation than the partition brought about by the annexation of the Russian speaking east. The West has to decide if trying to keep the two hostile parts of Ukraine sutured together is worth the risk of a major European war.
