New War Brewing?

If Biden wanted peace he would just reverse Trump's rejection of the Iran deal. Just as with Cuba and Saudi Arabia as well as union rights and immigration, he made symbolic gestures but kept up some of the important Trump features. Despite the seeming contradiction between the GOP and Dems, between "democracy" and "fascism" the ruling class is a unity of opposites with respect to the oppression of the working class-- we need independent working class politics and not the mumbo jumbo of those saying we should follow the Pied Pipers of the labor aristocracy trying to lead us into alliance/coalition with the a ruling class party. We can work with all real progressive elements, but not those with capitalism in their bones--they will turn on us and our real allies in the end. 革命万岁

It's Biden's War not Putins!

Marxists must always remember that US Imperialism is the major threat to world peace. This article shows what Marxists have known all along--that the war in Ukraine is NOT Putin's war, it is Biden's war. US Marxists who fail to stress this elemental class truth not only fail their duties to the working class but to the cause of peace and the rights to people to self determination. Russia does not get a free pass on these issues, but it is the US that is responsible for the major violations and for this horrible war in Ukraine. Those on the Left should be able to separate the sheep from the wolves by their position on this issue.

"The Minsk agreements were valid and moderate and would have led to durable peace, if implemented by Ukraine. The continued shelling of Donbass by Ukraine, as documented by OSCE1, constituted repeated violations by Ukraine of Art. 2(4) of the Charter. It is the ultima irratio to wage war on a hapless civilian population to prevent the exercise of their right of self-determination. All Russian attempts at peaceful negotiation in the context of OSCE and the Normandy Format were ignored. As late as December 2021 Russia put on the table the drafts of two treaties that would have been the basis of a fruitful dialogue pursuant to article 2(3) of the UN Charter. Again the U.S. and NATO rejected these peaceful overtures."

LEFT-center versus CENTER-left

Once again the "center" ends up aiding the right when push comes to shove. Those on the left who still think we have to "follow the center" to get to victory should learn from this election their opportunism may have flipped the House to the very right they claim to oppose. The left should always maintain the most advanced (realistic) positions and when working with centrist forces not be uncritical but argue for the advanced positions in a non disruptive, but principled, way. Those on the left who continue to cave in to the center and fear to stand up for principled positions will only isolate themselves and help the right. It's LEFT-center unity, not CENTER-left unity.

Ukrainian Cesspool?

US Tax payers, via the Biden regime, spends billions of dollars to support this criminal neo-fascist regime (money needed at home by the US people to fight hunger, poverty, and disease) and pro-long a proxy war with Russia it provoked by NATO expansion and other aggressive anti-Russian actions the US has followed since the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Left must demand that the US push for immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and negotiations to bring about a permanent peace. This war should never have taken place in the first place and if the US had not broken its promise not to expand NATO to the east if the Soviet Union withdrew from eastern Europe it never would have happened-- it's the result of thirty years of provocations and micro-aggressions against a fallen foe who originally wanted to end the cold war and become part of the normal European political capitalist system but was constantly rebuffed by the US to justify keeping its troops in Europe and its high military budget to feed our domestic capitalist ruling class which lives off of war profits and military spending. The monopoly capitalism (AKA imperialism) and drive for profits and world economic hegemony of the US dominated "free world", not "nasty demented" Mr Putin, is responsible for this war, and the Left has do what it can to enlighten our own people and working class and get them to demand Biden and his capitalist cronies start the process to peacefully end it.
