This is an important article to counter all the CIA and imperialist propaganda about the treatment of Islam in Xinjiang. Unfortunately some of this imperialist propaganda is even being spread by so-called progressives and even appearing in publications claiming to be progressive. Progressives have a duty to counter the anti-communist and anti-Chinese rhetoric being disseminated by US imperialism and its dupes and agents (conscious or unconscious) on the role of the CCP in countering extremism and separatism in Xinjiang.
