The New York congresswoman, once a bane of establishment Democrats, has tried to nudge her movement in a bigger-tent''-NYT 11-1-2026  An interesting article on the real life struggle to raise socialist consciousness in the masses. A real Hegelian contradiction exists between the presently existing confused mass consciousness engendered by the capitalist order which is a mixture of me and mine firstism and the vierw that for all its faults the present system is reformable in only a moderate way combining conservative and liberal features, and the concepts of socialism which lead to views which are qualitatively different and create a collective social consciousness leading ultimately to a revolutionary transformation from capitalism to a socialist system based on people before profits. At this time, AOC and DSA have a role in laying the foundations for a positive development of this new consciousness which is a prerequisite to resolving the above mentioned contradiction. People who understand Marxism and Leninism (it's highest form) should be nudging DSA to remember this role and for those criticizing the organization for not publicly making maximum demands in an era when minimum demands are labeled as ''communist'', well, they should reread ''Left-wing Communism an Infantile Disorder'' and grow up.
