China and the Uyghurs via the BBC

The faces from China’s Uyghur detention camps

By John Sudworth

This is a major BBC news “exposé” on Chinese government repression of the Uyghurs— or is it?

Is there any reason to be skeptical about this article? Here are some facts to consider that I found from articles in Wikipedia.

All this information comes from one source, Adrian Zenz, a professional anti-communist and extreme religious fundamentalist, co-author of Worthy to Escape: Why All Believers Will Not Be Raptured Before the Tribulation. He has “stated that he feels "led by God" in his research on Chinese Muslims and other minority groups.”

“Zenz published the Xinjiang Police Files, a collection of official police documents he received from anonymous hackers in early 2022.”  Who are these mysterious hackers? Could they be sophisticated enough to have fabricated all this stuff?

Who does Zenz work for? “As of 2021, he is a senior fellow in China studies at the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation.”

Who is behind this foundation?  “The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) is a non-profit anti-communist organization in the United States, authorized by a unanimous Act of Congress in 1993 for the purpose of "educating Americans about the ideology, history and legacy of communism." What do you know, it’s the United States government. The Republicans and Democrats are unanimous in being anti-communists.

One of the goals of this outfit is to equate China with Nazi Germany! It supports the “double genocide” theory— Nazi race genocide = Communist class genocide.

So, the question is, does the United States government have the capabilities to fabricate all this so-called “hacked” material as part of its ongoing propaganda assault against China? If it  does, then is some basis for being skeptical about this article.
