China: Socialist vs Capitalist Market
It is not the job of the Communist Party to direct the economy in the interests of stock speculators, entrepreneurs, and big capitalist corporations. The CPC has always maintained that the socialist market was not a "free" capitalist market but a "socialist market" which was using capitalist measures to develop the economy for the purpose of an eventual transition to full socialism. The Party serves the interests of the vast majority of working people and peasants not the capitalist oriented business community that has developed as a result of the economic reforms. In China their interests are promoted by the state under regulations that benefit the goals set by the Communist Party in the interests of the entire population as a whole. In the West the state serves the interests of a small capitalist class at the expense of the vast majority of the people as a whole. It is only natural that the NYT and other MSM find fault with how China plans its economic growth as this socialist model is a real threat to Western capitalist economic domination of the world. Peaceful competition is only acceptable to the West if it guarantees maintenance of Western domination, specifically US imperialist domination. The Biden regime is even now ramping up its imperialist military and propaganda threatening armed conflicts with China and even other capitalist countries (Russia in particular) which refuse to kowtow to American interests. This has been the case with every president since WWII and will remain the case until the capitalist ruling class is overthrown one way or another.
