The Taliban, a bunch of obscurantist medieval religious fanatics, kicked out both the Soviet Union and the USA, what is the Weltgeist up to?

The Way Forward
The "Often" appears to be "Mostly." This is how institutional racism works. The article indicates that FEMA workers don't exhibit any conscious signs of racism but the agency and the rules and regulations (which all go back to Congress ultimately) have a built in, even if unconscious' bias in favor of white people. It's not FEMA but the whole cultural and social matrix of American capitalism as it it developed from 1619 through the Constitutional Convention, Civil War, to the present day. Only a revolutionary transition to socialism and a new Constitutional Convention called by the worker's government to ban capitalism and capitalist political parties in favor of People's Rights Socialism can eliminate the built in racism of the USA. Our party should lead the way, it's the only way.

Biden vs the DPRK
"Mr. Biden made a brief reference to North Korea in his speech before a joint session of Congress on Wednesday, saying that its nuclear program and Iran’s presented “serious threats to American security and the security of the world.” He said the United States and its allies would deal with them “through diplomacy as well as stern deterrence.” “It is certain that the U.S. chief executive made a big blunder,” Kwon Jong-gun, a senior official at North Korea’s Foreign Ministry, said in a statement published by the North’s state news media. He said Mr. Biden’s remark “clearly reflects his intent to keep enforcing the hostile policy toward” North Korea."--NYT
It is counterproductive for the world's predominate imperialist power to make threatening statements against the DPRK and use sanctions and other hybrid-war methods to undermine its economy and cause suffering to its civilian population. The hypocrisy in Biden's position is obvious. The US destroyed Libya after that country agreed to give up its pursuit of nuclear weapons and has allowed its Israeli puppet to create a nuclear arsenal while demanding Iran not to respond in kind. Biden is continuing the deliberate policy of being hostile to the DPRK in order to justify the bloated military budget and plans to revamp the US nuclear forces. The only "serious threat" to "the security of the world" is the US and Biden's choice to continue a hostile aggressive policy against the DPRK.

Socialism à la Denmark
Maybe Bernie Sanders should use another example than Denmark of "Socialism." Per Mouritsen, an associate professor of political science at Aarhus University, said the government had toughened its stance on immigration in recent years to avoid losing votes to the right wing, a dilemma that several center-left parties across Europe have faced. “The only way to beat the right-wing in Denmark is to sell your soul to the devil and be as tough on immigration in order to have support for social welfare policies in return,” Mr. Mouritsen said. Last year, the number of refugees leaving Denmark exceeded the number of arrivals. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has vowed to go further, saying that Denmark will aim to have “zero asylum seekers.”--NYT
Ms. Frederiksen is a Social Democrat and leader of a center-left government -- "zero asylum seekers" was the racist dream of Trump. To rely on the center is to end up abandoning socialist values to appease the right -- the lessons of history never seem to be learned by the social democrats.
